When I joined OpenText in 2023, I was tasked with redesigning the current brand guidelines website that was managed by the team of which I was a part. In 2024 we went through a process of redesign again. Here is the process we went through and the designs for the site.
Site architecture
We started by developing a site map using FigJam. I did an initial outline, and then it was fleshed out with the help of two other members of the team. We initially planned on having a home page, and six subpages. A Corporate Assets page would house essential resources, like the corporate PowerPoint template. A page called Brand Toolbox would be for the writing and visual brand guidelines. We thought that additional pages to explain event and campaign approaches would be helpful. A Learn page would provide resources that would help employees better understand OpenText. And the last page we considered was called Work—it would serve as a portfolio for our team.
Wireframes
I then built out wireframes in Figma based on the site map. Each page had a header and content below organized into white boxes. The home page would serve as an expanded menu leading to all the pages. These were taken to the stakeholder for review.
Hi-fidelity
Due to timeline constraints, the stakeholder directed us to complete four pages only: the home page, the Corporate Assets page, the Brand Toolbox page, and a new page (that we had not accounted for) which would contain assets for company’s employee acquisition efforts. I had actually previously designed the messaging and visual brand guidelines pages, so those were simply ported over. We continued to iterate on these pages over time.
